ClobberCast
An amateur podcast about professional wrestling.

Calvin Hansen, Toben Shelby, and Stevo

Three friends gather on an irregular basis to casually discuss and dissect simulated violence as storytelling in its many forms around the world. WWE, NJPW, PWG, Lucha Underground, Stardom, ROH, CMLL, and whatever else catches our fancy. It ain't ballet, but it is amazing, stupid, hilarious, weird, confusing, and beautiful. It's professional wrestling, and there's nothing quite like it. Let's talk about it.

Remembering the Ultimate Warrior; reveling in two days of pure wrestling happiness.

Hank and Toben are joined once again by Space Money Octagon co-founder – and recent wrestling convert – Calvin to talk about the magic that was WrestleMania XXX and the Monday Night RAW that followed. But first, they take some time to remember iconic wrestler The Ultimate Warrior, who passed away just days after being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.

ClobberCast Episode 6: #HijackPodcast

The ClobberCast reviews the WWE Network and previews WrestleMania XXX, while battling strange and mysterious interference.

Hank and Toben are joined on this episode by Daniel Bryan enthusiast and not-jaded-yet casual wrestling fan Derek Alexander of Nothing Matters podcast. Together, they reflect on the first two weeks of the WWE Network and what classics they’ve been revisiting, argue about ECW, and figure out what type of madman would want the over-the-top service. After that, they try to predict what may happen at WrestleMania XXX and why. All the while, the trio battles strange interference from a mysterious force (it’s Skype…Skype almost broke the podcast).

Weighing in on a weird Royal Rumble, CM Punk’s departure, WWE Network and the milk truck incident.

Toben and Hank are joined by Calvin of the Nothing Matters podcast to review the Royal Rumble and all the weirdness surrounding it. Where was Daniel Bryan, why was the crowd so angry and how bad do we feel for Rey Mysterio? Then it’s time to talk about CM Punk walking out on the WWE and figure out what happened and why. Finally, the guys get hyped for the WWE network and answer a listener question about a classic encounter involving Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle and a milk truck.

ClobberCast Episode 2: Beardemic

Hank and Toben are joined by Nothing Matters podcast’s Derek to talk about some recent wrasslin happenings, but mostly to talk about the appeal of Daniel Bryan.

How’d the bearded badass make his way to the WWE? What almost ended his chance at stardom? How did losing in 18 seconds make him a star? Listen in as we sort it out.

Derek also has a barrage of “hey, I don’t really watch wrestling” questions that Toben and Hank try their best to answer.

ClobberCast Episode 1: You Want to Watch Pro Wrestling?

Hank and Toben talk about how new viewers might go about watching pro wrestling. Do you need to start with WWE RAW #1? (DO NOT DO THAT) How important is continuity? Beyond a few months, not very.

The guys cover the basics about what to watch and where. Hank reflects on the (crazy) man that was New Jack, Toben recalls the time that ICP dude fell off and bus and learns that Juggalo Championship Wrestling is a thing.

They also chat about some recent WWE storylines involving Daniel Bryan and Paul Heyman, and answer some listener questions about who from NXT has the most potential, CZW and more.

ClobberCast Episode 0: The Dark Match

Join Hank and Toben as they talk about pro-wrestling in a way that hopefully is friendly to fans and laymen alike. Some of you asked for it and now we’re trying to figure out why.

How is pro wrestling a thing we like? When did we fall in and out of love with it and what keeps us coming back?

Is pro wrestling kind of dumb? Yes.

Dumb in a fun way like action movies? Yes (usually).

Were most of Roddy Piper’s promos kind of racist? Yes.
